When Papo & Yo creator Vander Caballero admits up-front that the game’s Monster represents his alcoholic father, you know it’s a different kind of game. Monster, an often-gentle creature and friend to main character Quico, is addicted to frogs, and when he eats one, he flies into a rage and often smashes down the puzzles that Quico has painstakingly solved. Caballero said in an interview that in focus testing, some people have cried at Papo & Yo’s conclusion. Dare you to find a first-person shooter that can do the same.
