During the Egyptian uprisings, some social media manager at Kenneth Cole thought it clever to hijack the #Cairo hashtag for the brand’s benefit.
The result is the icky, distasteful tweet posted above, which drew the ire of everybody with basic taste and discretion. The Internet seized the opportunity in the form of the now-defunct @KennethColePR, a legendary fake account that lambasted the clothes seller by drawing outlandish connections to travesties.
The worst part? The joke wasn’t even funny.
