What it is: Dashclock is a highly customizable widget for showing all kinds of information in one place, including the time, weather, battery life and unread e-mail counts. Users can expand the functionality even more with Dashclock extensions, such as AnyDash.
Why it’s a good widget: Although you can certainly add DashClock to your home screen, where it really shines is on the lock screen for devices running Android 4.2. (For now, that includes the Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 10 and GSM Galaxy Nexus, but that’ll change with time.) Instead of having lots of widgets on your lock screen, DashClock gives you all the info you need at a glance.
