One character we didn’t see in Joss Whedon’s The Avengers was Ant-Man. He first appeared in the 1950s in Marvel’s Tales to Astonish as Henry Pym, a scientist who discovers a rare set of subatomic particles which he modestly names “Pym particles.” After harnessing these particles into a serum and injecting himself with it, he realizes he can shrink down to the size of an ant, which he can control with a helmet he invented. Unbelievable? Sure, but any technology that makes me think of Rick Moranis in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids is fine by me.
