Deployed in Brazil, Petrobras’s “Gas Station of the Future” was created to give customers a “personalized experience” at the pump, according to Tinsley. When customers drive up, the car is recognized by reading the license plate or an RFID tag. The digital signage at the pump then changes to play advertising based on the customer’s preferences, using Intel’s AIM Suite technology. Going one step further, the kiosk displays the latest items in the convenience store, as well as allows drivers to print directions on the spot, so it’s nearly impossible to get lost, even if you’re a man who’s too confident to ask for directions.
