You were not the controller last generation. Whatever Microsoft’s marketing team told everyone, Kinect was a very cool but fundamentally inarticulate technology, letting you “be the controller” in roughly the same proportions copious amounts of alcohol let you be the driver (on black ice, in a blizzard). So there’s reason to be skeptical about games that tout full-body Kinect interaction.
Fighter Within should give the Xbox One a chance to strut the revamped version of Kinect’s stuff, perhaps making the case for one-to-one motion mapping games at last. Imagine playing martial arts-angled brawlers like Tekken or Virtua Fighter against a friend, throwing actual punches, hooks, kicks, combos, dodging and so forth (in other words, plan to play in a big — I mean really big — play space).
