As Tales games go, Tales of Xillia may be the most anticipated-in-series yet — critically acclaimed in Japan (the highest rated by frequent bellwether Famitsu) and successful enough to garner a sequel, Tales of Xillia 2, that’s already available overseas. Developer Namco Tales Studio describes the real time combat engine as a “Dual Raid Linear Motion Battle System,” which sounds obtuse, but amounts to another real time system where your actions deplete points, and where you can link up with other characters to perform coordinated attacks. Otherwise you can bet the plot involves saving the world (or in this case, worlds), and you’ll probably want to play as much for the wild story and outré artwork as anything.
