Decisions that players made in the first two games — both large and small — are felt at every turn in Mass Effect 3 as Commander Shepard tries to unite every species and save themselves from mass extinction. It was a fitting way to scale up an already-epic space opera. The game’s sharp combat and surprisingly good cooperative multiplayer are just icing on the cake.
