Ford’s hybrid plug-in Fusion, which it calls a “Fusion Energi,” gets an incredible 100 MPGe when running on its battery alone — 8 MPGe more than Chevrolet’s Volt, and more than the projected efficiency of Toyota’s Prius plug-in. It’s also pretty easy on the eyes — the company swapped out the three-bar blade-style front grille on its older model Fusions for something that looks suspiciously like the nose of an Aston Martin. You’ll only get 21 miles running battery-only, with top speeds of 85 m.p.h., but for 100 MPGe, the tradeoffs are probably worth it.
