If it accomplishes nothing else, Windows 8 has prompted the PC industry to build more imaginative computers than it did in the Windows 7 era. One of the most creative is Sony’s $879.99 VAIO Tap 20. At first blush, it looks like a typical 20″ all-in-one touchscreen machine. But you can unplug it from the wall, fold up its stand, and tote it around like the world’s most gigantic Windows 8 tablet — one with enough real estate that two people can use it at once. It weighs 11 pounds, which sounds like a boat anchor by laptop standards; still, it’s light enough to carry from living room to kitchen and back again without much thought.
