We have years of evidence now, in the wildly successful form of the iPad, that most tablet users don’t need a stylus to be a happy. But if you do crave one — for note-taking or sketching — Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 is the leading contender. Starting at $499, the 10.1″ Android tablet comes with its own version of the S-Pen, the well-done pressure-sensitive instrument Samsung introduced with its Galaxy Note phones. The software isn’t in the same league as the iPad when it comes to polish, but Samsung did tweak Android with some welcome productivity-minded modifications, including the ability to put two apps on the screen at once.
